Tanya’s passion and flair for Dance was noticed from a very young age when she excelled in Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern and Jazz. She made her debut professional performance at the tender age of 9. At the age of 10 she was accepted as a part-time student at the renowned Italia Conti Stage School, studying Performing Arts and Musical Theatre. Keen to keep up her academic studies, at the age of 18 she was awarded a place at London College of Dance. After three years of intensive training, Tanya was awarded a first class degree in Dance as well as gaining her teaching and aerobic qualifications. Her talent for teaching was soon acknowledged as she was awarded ‘Most Promising Teacher of the Year’ in her final year of study.

Soon after graduating, Tanya was very fortunate to secure a job at the prestigious stage school Arts Educational, London. She taught Classical Ballet to a range of students preparing them for the professional world of Dance, as well as teaching Tap, Modern and Jazz at a variety of Schools in the South East.

In 2003 Tanya was employed as a part-time teacher at The Hawthorns School and in 2006 was appointed Head of Dance.  Over the years she has gradually built up the Dance School, incorporating new genres of Dance as well as a vast timetable. The School of Dance has had extensive success with students now regularly appearing in West End shows, selected for Ballet companies, appearing in pantomimes and successfully competing in competitions across the South East.

Tanya is highly committed to The Hawthorns School of Dance and continues to pursue excellence in the Performing Arts.
